Destinations

The emerald waters of the Andaman Sea cradle a breathtaking world of limestone islets, hidden lagoons, and pristine beaches—and Trang’s seascape is a perfect embodiment of this coastal paradise. Scattered across the horizon, the islands of Trang beckon travelers with their unique charm, each offering a distinct experience that blends untouched nature with the warm spirit of the South.
Setting sail from the mainland, one can embark on a journey of discovery, venturing into a realm where towering cliffs guard secluded bays, soft white sands meet turquoise waves, and marine life flourishes beneath the surface. Some islands are known for their mystical caves and glowing sea passages, while others invite visitors to unwind on tranquil shores or snorkel among vibrant coral gardens. Each stop on this maritime adventure reveals a new facet of Trang’s natural wonder, making every visit a tale of exploration.
Beyond the scenery, these islands hold an air of serenity that sets them apart from more crowded tourist destinations. Here, time slows, the rhythm of the waves dictates the pace, and every moment spent on the water is a chance to reconnect with nature’s raw beauty. Whether seeking adventure, solitude, or simply the joy of floating in crystalline waters, Trang’s island gems promise an experience both enchanting and unforgettable.
Let’s set sail and uncover seven of Trang’s most spectacular island highlights—each with its own story to tell, waiting to be explored.

Ko Kradan
Ranks as the world’s most beautiful beach (as voted by the World Beach Guide). This might be because it is one of the few islands in Trang's sea that boasts crystal-clear waters, stunning hues, white sands, and vibrant coral reefs.
In my opinion, while Ko Kradan may not be my ultimate best, spending ample time there reveals the allure of the sea. From the mesmerizing waves and driftwood to the distant islands lined up on the horizon, the island’s charm never fails to captivate.

The Emerald Cave
Located on Ko Muk is an iconic Unseen Thailand attraction that has brought fame to Trang’s sea for decades. Swimming into this cave is an experience not to be missed, leading to a lagoon encircled by mountains, almost entirely cut off from the outside world.
However, the highlight of the Emerald Cave is its first chamber. As you swim out, you’ll notice the stunning emerald hue created by sunlight reflecting off the sea within the cave. If you wear a mask and look beneath the surface, you’ll see countless fish seeking refuge in this enchanting spot.

Ko Wean
A limestone island surrounded by steep cliffs that plunge directly into the sea, with no beaches or flat land. However, its underwater world offers a hidden gem—vibrant sea fans thriving at a shallow depth of just 2–3 meters, making it an exceptional spot for snorkeling and underwater exploration.

Ko Rok
The furthest island from the mainland, boasts pristine natural beauty, earning it the title "Queen of the Andaman." Its standout features include crystal-clear waters. The island is also home to thriving hard coral reefs, making it a paradise for nature lovers and underwater explorers alike
Ko Ngai
One of the overlooked islands, despite its considerable charm. The island features delightful resorts, offering a serene atmosphere. Staying here allows visitors to enjoy a signature view of Trang's seascape, characterized by scattered islets dotting the horizon. This scenery becomes particularly enchanting during the first light of dawn, as the sky meets the sea in a breathtaking display.

Ko Lao Liang
Located at the southernmost tip of Trang’s sea, near the Satun coastline, is another gem with pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. What truly sets it apart are its strikingly beautiful limestone mountains, perfectly sculpted by nature. Situated within the Muko Petra National Park, the island remains untouched by human development, offering an unspoiled natural haven

Hat Mod Tanoi
Even is not an island but a secluded part of the mainland, so remote it feels almost cut off from the outside world. This hidden gem is home to Mod Tanoi Resort, a mainland retreat that feels like an island escape, surrounded by pure nature. The beach here boasts a natural sandbar stretching for kilometers, a phenomenon locally called The White Dragon’s Back. It offers a unique experience akin to walking on water through a serene coastal landscape.
